Parece mentira que sacaron a la luz pública una demanda contra Salvador Cabañas por daño y prejuicio hace dos años. Considero que la demanda es una represalia secundaria a su batalla contra Club América.

Salvador Cabanas has just received news that he is the target of a massive lawsuit in Mexico. The family of the victim has contacted the services of a lawyer Francisco Carreno who flew to Paraguay to personally present Cabanas with the papers.

According to Carreno, Maria Fatima Vera Ortigoza drove Cabanas’ car while using the cellular phone at the same time. The result was that she hit Jose Manuel Torres (who was the victim) who was riding his bicycle.

The result was an eight month hospitalization for Torres secondary to severe internal organ damage especially to the kidney, spleen, and ureter. The accident occurred two years ago and Carreno has given Cabanas 40 days to respond.

Ms. Vera has an arrest warrant pending for her part in the accident. The following scenario makes me want to think what has transpired.

It is a known fact that Salvador Cabanas was shot in the head in the beginning of 2010 after a dispute with a customer at a Mexican Bar. The dispute was centered on one of his last games with Club America.

Cabanas received publicity while hospitalized in Mexico and while being transferred to Paraguay to continue his treatment. Club America apparently promised that it would pay for his treatment and has retracted its promise.

Cabanas retaliated by taking Club America before the Mexican Soccer Federation of FMF and threatening to go to FIFA.

While I am not defending what his niece did, it is often wandered why the car accident was not settled two years ago. Why did a Mexican Lawyer attempt to revive what occurred two years ago. Is there a statute of limitation in these cases?

I am of the conclusion that the whole thing is a carefully orchestrated attempt at blackmail against Cabanas for attempting to do battle against Club America in the FMF or FIFA.

It is hoped that justice can be served for Cabanas as well as for the family of Torres without the use of blackmail but it is doubtful.

Salvador Caba~nas VS Club America

Salvador Cabanas, the Paraguayan football striker who suffered head injuries in a 2010 shooting in a Mexican bar, will file suit against Club America for breach of contract for suspending his pay, according to his lawyer Roberto Ruiz Diaz Labrano.

The announcement was made in an interview with the radio station “Radio Cardinal” in Paraguay.

Ruiz and Cabanas had hoped to take the case before mediation in the Mexican Football Federation (FMF). However, according to both, Club America did not want to resolve the issue of the contract with mediation.

They added that Michel Bauer, director of Club America, seeks to annul the contract since Cabanas quit working secondary to his accident. The annulment supposedly included the suspension of pay and is based on the argument that the injury was not work-related.

Ruiz states that he has proof that the lesions were “work-related” and reiterated his plan to take Cabanas case before FIFA.

Thelma Herrera is another lawyer specializing in sports who was interviewed separately. She declared that there is no case since the incident occurred outside of work hours.

Ms. Herrera also mentioned that Club America has already absorbed the costs of medical treatment for their player, as well as transporting him to his native Paraguay.

Cabanas was prominent in both Club America, a Mexican League team, and the Paraguayan National Soccer Team before he was shot in the head in the beginning of 2010.

The shooting incident left a bullet in the occipital lobe of Cabanas’ head. Cabanas was hospitalized and was able to be rehabilitated successfully until he was transferred to a clinic in Argentina to continue treatment.

Club America paid for the treatments and for the transfer to South America.

I remember that Club America once promised that they would be paying for his treatment for an indefinite time. I think Cabanas deserves justice and a resolution to his problem, but there should be an agreement about payment and treatment.

Salvador Cabanas via his official representative Jose Maria Gonzalez has accused Club America of unilaterally cutting contact with him and not paying him nor his treatment.

The accusation was made before the Mexican Football Federation better known for its Spanish acronyms FMF.

The Cabanas legal team has not ruled out the possibility of taking the case before FIFA in case the FMF does not receive it.

The accusations are based on the fact that he is still an employee of Club America.

Gonzalez made his declaration in an interview with the Paraguayan Digital Magazine ABC.

He states that he has proof that there was a unilateral suspension of contact and payment to the FLENI Clinic by Club America against his client.

He also showed ABC the contract between Cabanas and his representatives and Club America. The contract expires in the year 2012.

In order to better understand what has transpired, it is better to go to the reason behind the dispute between Cabanas and Club America.

In the beginning of 2010, Salvador Cabanas was in a bar in Mexico City when he was shot in the forehead. The bullet lodged in his occipital lobe. He was hospitalized in Mexico and underwent rehabilitation.

At the time of his accident, Cabanas was one of the principal players for Club America. He was also going to participate in the 2010 FIFA World Cup representing his native Paraguay.

Club America paid for his treatment in Mexico ad he was able to make a significant recovery in spite of the grave prognosis of an occipitall lobe lesion.

The club also paid for his transfer to a treatment center called FLENI in Argentina and another in Paraguay. Club America did this under the glare of publicity.

Club America also promised they will pay for his treatment during the time that he was under contract. It appears that everything was great while Cabanas as well as the FIFA World Cup was receiving great publicity.

According to a poll released by the US Latin Station Univision, 48% or 428 out of 897 people polled believe that Club America should not pay for Cabanas Treatment since the accident occurred during his time off the field.

The same poll shows that 43% or 389 out of 897 think that Club America should pay for the treatment of Cabanas since there is still a contract that expires in 2012.The remaining people polled showed no comment.

The situation is a tricky legal one which leaves many to have an opinion one way or another.

 I am of the opinion that if Club America paid for his treatment  (in Mexico, Argentina, and his native Paraguay) until now, they should continue to pay for the treatment.

Salvador Cabanas did a lot for Paraguay and Club America of Mexico. He also helped the people of Mexico.

He deserves to receive regular communication with Club America as well as payment for what happened that beginning of 2010.

The world may never know what could have transpired for Cabanas had he not been shot. The sports world should ask for justice.

Considero que Club América es injusto con Salvador Cabañas en no pagar su tratamiento. Incluso, es un insulto que el Club corta todo tipo de contacto con él. Parece mentira especialmente que Cabañas recibió un disparo a la cabeza durante su época con el Club.

Club América debe encargarse de su tratamiento y ayuda hacia él y la familia. Al contrario, apoyo la decisión de Cabañas para reclamar de forma legal a la Federación Mexicana de Futbol y la FIFA. Me despido con las palabras: JUSTICIA PARA SALVADOR CABA~NAS.

Copa Mundial FIFA 2010: Paraguay En La Victoria

Paraguay merece su victoria en la Copa Mundial FIFA 2010. Paraguay es un equipo formidable y mostro que podía avanzar en este evento deportivo histórico. Parece que Paraguay recibió inspiración de lo que sucedió con Salvador Cabañas.

Ojala si Paraguay podía llevar la Copa Mundial 2010 y dedicar la victoria a Salvador Cabañas.

Copa Mundial FIFA 2010: Paraguay

Paraguay participara en la Copa Mundial FIFA 2010 a pesar de la falta de participación de su principal jugador Salvador Cabañas. Salvador Cabañas era el jugador más valioso del equipo nacional de Paraguay y del equipo de la Liga Mexicana Club América.

Salvador Cabañas recibió un disparo en el área frontal de la cabeza a principio del 2010 en un bar en México. El está vivo de milagro con la bala encrestada en el lóbulo occipital. El no puedes participar pues estas en terapia por lo que sucedió.

Salvador Cabañas logro anotar seis goles en 1,219 minutos jugado aunque recibió dos amonestaciones. Lo que sucedió con Cabañas fue una desgracia. Paraguay logro sobrevivir el trauma de lo que sucedió para jugar con valentía.

Para terminar con el tema de Salvador Cabañas, considero lo que sucedió fue un acto de cobardía. Los que intentaron contra la vida de este jugador más valioso son unos envidiosos que no saben qué hacer con sus vidas y lo pasan arruinando la vida de los demás.

Los que intentaron contra Salvador Cabañas deben estar condenados a cadena perpetua por sus actos de cobardía. México y Club América [igual como el mundo incluyendo el Presidente de Paraguay Lugo] merecen elogios por la manera de apoyar en todas las esferas a este jugador y su familia.

Paraguay esta en Grupo F con Italia, Eslovaquia, y Nueva Zelanda,  Paraguay esta por delante de Eslovaquia y Nueva Zelanda pero detrás de la República Italiana en la Clasificación FIFA Coca Cola. No obstante, no se puede descartar este equipo.

Durante la clasificación para la Copa Mundial, Paraguay humillo a la Argentina de Diego Armando Maradona cuando los expertos pensaron lo contrario. Paraguay merece elogio por esa acción en pro de futbol y en contra de la soberbia de un técnico megalomanía.

Paraguay va por el buen camino gracias a su disciplina y consistencia en sus jugadas. Ellos jugaran contra la República Democrática Popular de Corea [Corea del Norte], Irlanda, Grecia, y la Costa de Marfil en sus partidos de ensayos.

Paraguay tendrá problemas con la Costa de Marfil bajo la batuta de Sven Goran Eriksson. La Costa De Marfil parece estar organizado en la materia de futbol. Quizás ganara la Costa De Marfil contra Paraguay. Paraguay ganara sus partidos contra Irlanda, Grecia, y Corea del Norte sin complicarse.

Quiero extender mis mejores deseos para Paraguay en la Copa Mundial FIFA del 2010.

2010 World Cup Assessment: Paraguay

Paraguay is partcipating in the 2010 World Cup even though its principal player and top scorer Salvador Cabanas is unable to participate. The reason is that Salvador Cabanas was shot in the head during a dispute at a Mexican Bar. Regardless, the team has not allowed what transpired to affect its morale and Salvador Cabanas is going to South Africa as a spectator.

Salvador Cabanas [before his untimely accident] managed to score six goals, and two yellow cards with 1,219 minutes played. While Cabanas was one of the principal players and scorers for the Mexican team Club America, it will never be known what would have happened if there had been no incident with him being shot. What happened to Cabanas was an 

international disgrace.

Paraguay has been placed in Group F with Italy, New Zealand, and Slovakia. The first game is against Italy and is expected to be a difficult game. The games against New Zealand and Slovakia are expected to be easy with Italy and Paraguay getting the first two places in Group F.

The latest FIFA Coca Cola Ranking places Paraguay in 30th place with 822 points, Italy is in fifth place with 1,184 points, Slovakia is in 38th place with 742 points, and New Zealand is in 78th place with 413 points. 

The team has won 10 matches [mostly at home], with a draw in 3 games [mostly away], and 5 losses [mostly away]. It has had 24 goals for and 16 goals. Paraguay has 42 yellow cards, one red card, and one incident of two yellow cards followed by a red card. Regardless, the team should not be underestimated.

Diego Armando Maradona made the mistake when his team Argentina played against Paraguay during its 2009 World Cup  Classification Game. The result was that Paraguay gave Argentina and Maradona a humiliating defeat. Paraguay is practicing for the first game against Italy and hopes that it will defy convention and defeat it.  

Before South Africa, Paraguay will be testing the waters against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea [[also known as North Korea], Ireland, Greece, and the Ivory Coast in May 2010. It appears that Paraguay may defeat North Korea, Ireland, and Greece in its rehearsal games. The Ivory Coast under the leadership of Sven Goran Eriksson may possibly defeat Paraguay.

While the conventional wisdom says one thing, it should be remembered that nothing in sports is absolute.

Club America Close To Elimination In Mexican League 2009-2010

Club America is close to being eliminated from the Mexican League Competition for the 2009-2010 season after its loss to Monterrey in a crucial game which took place in the Estadio Tecnologico in Monterrey, Jalisco, Mexico.

The first half of this important game for both teams started with Club America being in posession of the ball and the game. Angel Reyna was able to score the first goal of the game within 26 minutes with a near direct goal kick which sidelined the goalkeeper of Monterrey Jose Maria Basanta.

Regardless, Club America began to show signs of faltering after the goal was scored and remained without a sense of direction for the duration of the game. The sense of direction was characterized by the lack of coordination between the players and the inability to pass the ball between the team members.

The coach of the team Chucho Ramirez made errors in substitutions that cost the team dearly when the replacements were worse than the players who were leaving the game/The club began to suffer further when Aquivaldo Mosquera was expelled from the game for unprofessional behavior.The series of yellow cards for some of the Club America players did not help the club in any way.

Monterrey took advantage of the situation with Club America to establish a pattern of consistency and discipline in the game. The players were organized and passed the ball between each other. Sergio Santana was able to take advantage of a ball that was left for “dead” after an attempted play between Aquivaldo Mosquera and Neri Cardozo by kicking it directly into the goal post.

The result was an equalizer that energized Monterrey and its supporters. The people wanted more results including a victory. The end result was another goal for Monterrey when Abraham Carreno took advantage of an opening within the Club America goal post to make a direct kick into the post.

The result was a 2 to 0 in favour of Monterrey and the remaining minutes were dedicated to the team looking forward in its plat while Club America slipped itself into a heartbeat away from elimination secondary to its lack of direction. Abraham Carreno is the most valued player of his team and game because of the seven goals scored during the 2010 Bicentennial Tournament in Mexico.

In other news about Club America, Salvador Cabanas [the player who was shot in the head in the beginning of 2010] has been showing signs of recovery since his arrival in Argentina. He may be going to South Africa as a spectator for the Paraguayan National Football/Soccer Team.

Jalisco was witness to the Atlas defeating Chivas of Guadalajara two to zero in order to be crowned “Kings of Guadalajara” in football/soccer. The victory was made possible by the two goals of Heber Alvarez within 13 minutes and 67 minutes as well as a weak Chivas team. Heber Alvarez was declared most valued player of the Atlas team for his five goals during the 2010 Mexican Bicentennial Tournament.

Queretaro defeated Estudiantes de Teco one to zero secondary to a goal scored by Isaac Romo within 77 minutes. Mr. Romo took advantage of a weak defense by the Estudiantes de Teco in the goal post. Jaguares of Chiapas defeated Los Indios of Ciudad Juarez one to zero in its home turf in Tuxla Gutierrez, Chiapas, Mexico.Tigres defeated Atlante two to one in its tournament game.

It remains to be seen what will transpire in the final weeks of the Mexican League season of 2009-2010 and the 2010 Mexican Bicentennial Tournament.

Estudiantes Tecos 0-0 Tigres UANL Liga Mexicana

Estudiantes de Tecos 0-0 Tigres de UANL

Los Tigres enfrentaron a los Estudiantes de Tecos durante el partido de la Liga Mexicana el 9 de Abril 2010. El lugar del partido fue El Estadio Tres de Marzo en Guadalajara, Jalisco, México.

Los Tigres tuvieron el dominio del partido con una recuperación rápida de la pelota. Por poco anotaron los goles pero los Estudiantes no lo dejaron. Los Tigres incluso intentaron un gol y fue bloqueado por el arquero de los Estudiantes mientras otro intento resulto en el rebote de la pelota.

Los Estudiantes ejercieron la presión y sus intentos de anotar un gol fueron bloqueado por al arquero Cirilo Saucedo. Los Estudiantes tampoco no lograron jugar un futbol que valía la pena.

Los intentos de sustitución en el segundo tiempo no cambio el resultado. Las amonestaciones tampoco hicieron efecto. En realidad, el partido no tuvo la carga eléctrica del partido de los Campeonatos CONCACAF entre Cruz Azul y Pumas UNAM.

El Jugador Mas Valioso fue el arquero de los Tigres UANL Cirilo Saucedo por sus intentos exitosos en bloquear los intentos de goles. Hay otras noticias en el futbol como el concierto de David Bisbal [cantante español] para recibir el Trofeo del Balón de Oro en Houston, Texas.
