At a time when the music world has appeared to lose its soul, there are artists that have appeared in the scene proving the public that it has not happened. Johnny Vasquez with his Compact Disc recording of a recompilation of his hits from two decades of singing is an example. “Lo Mejor De Mi” is an album that is worth listening to for those who are romantic with a heart and soul. “Lo Mejor De Mi” is a calling for those who yearn for a romantic music of that caliber instead of the “fast food” type music churned out by people who write the music for the latest dollar.

 

Johnny Vasquez is not only famous in the Spanish Speaking World. He has made inroads into the English Speaking World with two songs with the following titles: “She’s An Army of One” and “This Love”. “She’s An Army of One” is the song that Johnny Vasquez wrote, sang, and recorded to honour the women of the United States Military who have gone to Iraq and elsewhere to serve their country. Before anyone starts bringing a discussion about the war, I am only talking about the music and the fact that it is a song for those women who have gone to war leaving family and friends behind. “She’s An Army of One” also deals with the life that women in the military have to deal with including adjusting to life after returning home. I know a Nurse who is currently serving in Iraq and the song describes what she must be going through. “She’s An Army of One” is also proof that the Latin Population in America is firmly dedicated to love the United States of America in spite of doubts from certain people.

 

The song: “This Love” is an example of the maximum dedication that a man can express towards a woman. It is a song that shows love in its purest form with a heart and soul. “This Love” is a song that proves that love is universal and conquers all forms of artificial boundaries. “This Love” is also a song that for those who are romantic but do not know how to openly express their love for a woman. It is a warm song that calms the soul. For I so loved this Compact Disc and Music that I bought it for my daughter. My daughter shared the Compact Disc and Music with my wife and she loved it as well.

 

His song “Por Fin Encontre El Amor” [“I Have Finally Found Love”] is also proof of the maximum expression of how a man can overcome all obstacles in order to find the woman of his life. “Por Favor” [“Please”] is a song for men who want the women in their lives to forgive them. I have heard songs of this caliber including “Woman” written and interpreted by John Lennon.

Other songs in this Compilation Compact Disc such as “Solitario” [“Loner”] , “Amiga” [“Female Friend”] , “Besandolas” [“Kissing Her”], “Este Amor” [“This Love”], and “Robacorazones” [‘Heart Thief”], “Veinticuatro Horas” [“Twenty Four Hours”], “Yo Vivo Igual” [“I Live The Same”], “De Piel A Cuerpo” [“Body To Body”] are great and deal with the phenomenon called Romance and Love that only a singer like Johnny Vasquez could record.

 

I personally give the Compact Disc Compilation a One Hundred Percent for the Verses, the Music, the Presentation, and the artistry of Johnny Vasquez. I hope to hear future recordings of this great romantic.

En el mundo de la musica, [desgraciadamente] hay joyas que no reciben la publicidad y no es justa. Hay cantantes que merecen ser escuchado en este mundo que nos toco vivir. Uno de los cantantes se llama Johnny Vasquez y su ultimo disco compacto “Lo Mejor De Mi”.

 

“Lo Mejor De Mi” es una recopilacion de las obras grabadas por Johnny Vasquez durante su carrera musical con temas como “Solitario”, “Amiga”, “Besandolas”, “Este Amor”, y “Robacorazones”. “Lo Mejor De Mi” es un disco con musica que habla de un amor verdadero basado en la vida con esa inspiracion que proviene del alma. Johnny Vasquez es uno de los pocos artistas del genero romantico que hace uno sentir el romance. Incluso, me inspire comprar el disco para mi hija. Mi esposa escucho el disco y le gusto igual.

 

Johnny Vasquez mostro su versatilidad grabando dos temas en ingles “She’s an Army Of One” y “This Love”. “She’s An Army Of One” me hace recordar de una enfermera que conozco que esta serviendo a su pais en Irak bajo condiciones que uno podia imaginar. Uno puede o no estar de acuerdo con la Guerra en Irak [incluyendo la politica alrededor de esa Guerra] pero despues de escuchar la cancion, pense en la enfermera y otras mujeres que fueron a pelear en un pais lejano bajo su propia voluntad. En verdad esa cancion se debe retumbar por todos los sitios para tomar en cuenta los sacrificios hechos por las mujeres militares [incluyendo medicos, enfermeras, y trabajo social]. Incluso, Habra que tomar en cuenta el proceso dificil de recuperacion cuando regresan a los Estados Unidos. “She’s An Army Of One” es un himno para esas mujeres, la musica, y las letras son impactantes.

 

“This Love” mostro otra faceta de Johnny Vasquez en ingles con un llamado hacia el amor verdadero. “This Love” es la declaracion maxima de un hombre hacia la mujer. Otras canciones como “Veinticuatro Horas”, “Yo Vivo Igual”, “Por Favor”, “De Piel A Cuerpo” son fenomenal. “Por Favor” es un llamado de cualquier hombre pidiendo perdon de una mujer por sus fallos. Incluso [en mi opinion], la cancion “Por Favor” es superior a la cancion “Woman” [Mujer] de John Lennon como forma de pedir perdon a una mujer.

 

“Por Fin Encontre El Amor” es otro llamado a la felicidad despues de encontrar un amor verdadero y puro. Este humilde servidor decidio otorgar el disco “Lo Mejor De Mi” un 10/10 [100%] pues la manera que las canciones fueron interpretadas es majestuosa. Johnny Vasquez con este disco muestra que es un astro de la musica romantica pop en el Continente Americano y el Mundo. Felicidades a Johnny Vasquez por esta obra.
