CHIVAS USA SOSTENDRÁ UNA FIESTA PARA PRESENCIAR EL ANUNCIO DE LAS SEDES PARA LOS MUNDIALES 2018 Y 2022

 

Aficionados, ChivaGirls, ChivaFighter se reunirán en Hennessey’s Tavern de Manhattan Beach el jueves por la mañana

 

CARSON, Calif. (Lunes, 29 de noviembre, 2010) – Chivas USA sostendrá una fiesta el próximo jueves, 2 de diciembre, para presenciar junto con aficionados el anuncio de la FIFA de las sedes para los Mundiales 2018 y 2022. La fiesta será en el Hennessey’s Tavern de Manhattan Beach. Habrá café y té gratis, así como desayuno a un precio especial. En la fiesta habrá sorteos, así como la presencia del ChivaFighter y las ChivaGirls, quienes estarán presentes para firmar autógrafos.

 

ESPN estará transmitiendo el anuncio en vivo por SportCenter a las 7:00 a.m. Hora del Pacífico el jueves, al igual que Fox Soccer Channel, Univision y CNN, los cuales tendrán cobertura del evento durante todo el día. El Presidente de la Federación de Futbol de Estados Unidos Sunil Gulati, así como el Comisionado de la MLS, Don Garber, el jugador de Estados Unidos, Landon Donovan, y el ex Presidente de los Estados Unidos, Bill Clinton, estarán desde Zurich, fungiendo como voceros de la candidatura de los Estados Unidos. Los Estados Unidos están compitiendo ante Qatar, Corea del Sur, Japón y Australia por la oportunidad de ser anfitriones del Mundial 2022.

Personal Message For US Soccer Fans For 2018/2022 FIFA World Cup Bid

Disclaimer: I write this as a personal opinion from a US Soccer supporter. The opinions expressed in this article are those of the author and are not of BR.

Introduction

Amy Grant recorded “An Adult Christmas Wish List” many years ago. I have decided to write my version of an Adult Christmas Wish List for US Soccer and the FIFA Election Bid, since time is of the essence.

The Reality

We are almost upon the day when FIFA decides who will host the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. It is not an easy election or decision, especially taking into account the scandals affecting the process.

The process has also been rocky since certain people do not have a great opinion of the USA. The detractors even attempted to associate (inadvertently) us with what is wrong in America.

The same detractors also say soccer is not popular in America, and I have something to say: ever since the 1994 FIFA World Cup, football/soccer has been making its presence heard.

In every corner of America, people are playing soccer and wearing the uniform of their teams in a show of support. This loyalty transcends all class, racial, ethnic and geographical lines within America.

The stadiums in Seattle, Chicago, Columbus and New York fill to capacity. The city of Miami, which is home to Miami FC, is decked out with the US Soccer uniform.

Miami is also full of trucks and cars with US Soccer’s logo. People ask me: what is happening to the US bid? I tell them to show their support.

The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, Miley Cyrus, Drew Carey and Tommy Lasorda have collaborated with Bill Clinton and Morgan Freeman in this noble cause.

In Miami, I have seen artists such as Marianela Rodriguez and Mayra Veronica wearing the US Soccer shirts. The stars of the Univision TV Show Republica Deportiva (Sports Republic), Fernando Fiore and the “Senators” (who are the cheerleaders of the program) such as Carolina McCalister, wear the US Soccer shirt.

For the detractors, we will remain around even if we are not awarded the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The US Soccer team and its supporters are here to stay. We intend to leave our imprint on the history of football/soccer.

The Challenge

The day of the FIFA selection process will be on December 2nd in Switzerland. I challenge all supporters of the US Soccer team to wear the colors and clothing of the team on that day.

If you do not have a US Soccer T-shirt, show your pride with bumper stickers as well as flags on your cars or offices (if you have permission from your supervisors).

The shirts of any team within the USA such as CD Chivas USA, Real Salt Lake, Columbus Crew or Miami FC will also suffice. The same applies to any souvenirs.

I also challenge my fellow US Soccer supporters to wear the sash, shirts and souvenirs of “The Game Is In US” so that the world can see that we are lovers of football/soccer.

Whether FIFA pays attention to us or not, at least we gave our best shot for the cause
