Rio Ferdinand is one of the institutions that exist in Manchester United. He currently plays as a centre back for the Manchester United Football [Soccer] Club. Rio Ferdinand has also been one of the most controversial of football [soccer] players. Before talking about his life, his controversies should be discussed since athletes are human beings.

Rio Ferdinand has had various driving offences and was prohibited from driving because of them. He also used an expletive to describe a BBC Radio Disc Jockey although he later recanted. I also remember seeing segments of his own show called “Rio’s World Cup Wind Ups” followed by “Rio’s All Star Wind Ups”.

It is a pity that both shows were cancelled since it showed English Football [Soccer] in a positive light with the athletes joking and becoming human. Even though he has his defects, who does not have them? He started life on the 7th of November 1978 in Peckham, London, England.

Rio Ferdinand started very early in life with football [soccer] and played for various teams such as Eltham Town, Queens Park Rangers, and West Ham United in his youth. He turned professional by remaining in West Ham United before he finally signed with Manchester United and started playing at Old Trafford.

Rio Ferdinand also played for Leeds United and Bournemouth during his period before he embarked on his Manchester United Career. During his career, he scored ten goals within three hundred and ninety four appearances. He also scored three goals in seventy seven appearances with the English National Team.

His biggest International Goals occurred in Nigata, Japan during the 2002 Korea/Japan World Cup when he helped England defeat Denmark three to zero with his one goal. He also scored three goals in England’s Game against Russia during the UEFA Euro 2008 Cup Finals played in England.

In the 2010 FIFA World Cup Classification between England and Kazakhstan in London, England, he scored one goal and was able to help England win its classification five to one. This occurred on the eleventh of October in the year 2008. He was the recipient of the honours of the Premier League, Football League Cup, FA Community Shield, UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, FIFPro World XI, and PFA Premier League Team of the Year.

Rio Ferdinand is currently married with two children and has been involved in helping football. He once accused FIFA of weakness when it came to dealing with racist behaviour in fans. This is something that is admirable since racism and hooliganism must be eliminated from football [soccer].

The Hull City Football Club also known as the Tigers are an English Football Club located in the area of Kingston upon Hull, East Riding, Yorkshire. The club was established in the year 1904 when they started playing games at the Boulevard Anlaby Road Cricket Ground and Dairycoates.

A year after its foundation, Hull City Football Club was elected to the Second Division of the Football League and finished third place in that league in the 1909-1910 after losing to Oldham Athletic three to zero. The margin of difference was nothing more than a mere 0.29 of a goal.

The history of Hull City Football Club was written by David Mercer who joined in January 1914. He started to play with the team within three months of becoming a member. David Mercer was also known as Magical Mercer and he made two hundred and eighteen consecutive appearances. Of the 218 appearances by Mercer, there were 142 appearances during the war.

Afterwards, Hull City Football Club stated to experience financial problems just like many other clubs and businesses during the Great Depression. In spite of the economic problems, the club managed to survive thanks to one of its prominent players George Geordie Maddison and Bill Mc Naughton.

Regardless, the Second World War II did not help the club as it sank into the Third Division until it finally remained dormant. After all, there was not time for football [soccer] during this war. Regardless, everything started to improve when peace returned to Europe in 1945.

It was in 1946 that Hull City Football Club returned with a new manager Major Frank Buckley, a new Board of Directors under the leadership of Harold Needler, and a new home called Boothferry Park. There was a new player who would grace the pages of the history of Hull City Football Club whose name was Raich Carter. He started with the club on the 3rd of April 1948 and was instrumental in the club winning first place in the Third Division.

Regardless of the recent economic problems, Hull City Football Club remains one of the football clubs in England and it is hoped that they will continue to be successful in the years to come.

Hull City Football Club also returned to the Second Division for a brief period of time. The 1960′s was also a new era of change for the club when Harold Needler welcomed Cliff Britton as the new manager in July 1961. Harold Needler then proceeded to offer Cliff Britton a contract of ten years duration and a cash injection of Two Hundred Thousand British Pound

Sterlings.

The players that were prominent during the 1960′s were Ken Wagstaff, Chris Chilton, Ken Houghton, and Ian Butler. In the 1970′s, the prominent managers were Terry Neill, Bobby Collins, John Kaye, and Ken Houghton. Regardless of the changes of manager, there were more economic problems as well as league relegation.

In spite of new management in the 1980′s under the guise of Mike Smith, Bobby Brown, and Cyril Lea, the Hull City Football Club was placed in receivership. For those who are not familiar with the word receivership, it is a form of bankruptcy which allows companies to avoid going out of business through a reorganization under the supervision of a court appointed trustee

After the financial situation improved, there was optimism as the Hull City Football Club began to ascend into the Second Division and at one point reaching the top of that division before suffering relegation. In 1997, the family of Harold Needler sold the club to David Lloyd. David Lloyd was the Captain of British Davis Cup Team including Boothferry Park.

David Lloyd however was not popular and was forced to sell to Nick Buchanan in 1998. The only condition was that he remained the owner of Boothferry Park.

Roque Santa Cruz is the latest of the football or soccer personalities that deserves a profile. His contributions to football or soccer off or on the field are worth mentioning. Roque Santa Cruz is also a great legend in Paraguay, International Football [Soccer] and the Latin Community within North America.

Roque Santa Cruz was born Roque Luis Santa Cruz Cantero on the 16th of August 1981 in Asuncion, Paraguay. He has had a career with football or soccer since an early age and has been associated with Olimpia Asuncion, Bayern Munich, and the Blackburn Rovers

Roque Santa Cruz started his football or soccer career with Olimpia Asuncion in 1988. During his time with Olimpia Asuncion, he was able to maintain a record of being a high scorer. Luis Cubilla who was the coach of the seniour professional division of Olimpia Asuncion took him under his wing.

Roque Santa Cruz was able to win various championships in Paraguay, earn the award of Paraguayan Footballer of the Year, and score thirteen goals within twenty three appearances. His performances lead many in International Football or Soccer to take a close look at him.

In the year 1999, Bayern Munich signed Roque Santa Cruz. It was during his time with Bayern Munich that he was able to score thirty one goals within one hundred and fifty five appearances; win the UEFA Champions League, the European-South American Cup, and the German League.

He signed with the Blackburn Rovers in the year 2007 and scored twenty three goals out of fifty five appearances. He was also named Premier League Player of the Month for December 2007. Even though the Blackburn Rovers lost their 15th of December 2007 game to Wigan Atlantic, Roque Santa Cruz was able to score a hat trick for the Rovers.

While Manchester City attempted to buy the contract of Roque Santa Cruz, they failed and he remains with the Blackburn Rovers.

The participation of Roque Santa Cruz in the National Team of Paraguay is also admirable with his [and the participation of Paraguay] in the 2002 and 2006 World Cup as well as Copa America in the year 2007. He also scored twenty goals in sixty one appearances for the Paraguayan National Team.

Roque Santa Cruz is currently married and has two children. He participated in a recording with the German Rock Band Sportfreunde Stiller. The title of the song was “Ich Rocke” or “I Rock”. I heard the song and it was one of the greatest examples of how sports and rock music goes together.

It is the desire of this underwriter to wish Roque Santa Cruz the best now and always.
