Pat Riley Resigns As Coach of the Miami Heat

Abril 29, 2008

According to CBS 4 News in Miami Florida, Pat Riley resigned as Miami Heat Coach after discussions with Miami Heat Owner Micky Arlson. He will be replaced by Erik Spoelstra. The news comes as no surprise since the 2007-2008 Miami Heat Season was the worst disaster in NBA History with losses and the departure of Shaquille O Neal to Phoenix, Arizona.

LIBERTARIAN PARTY: RATION GOVERNMENT, NOT FOOD

Abril 29, 2008

Ration government, not food

Food rationing in America represents the ultimate failure of government regulation

Washington, D.C. - Food rationing has started for the first time in the United States as food prices soar across the nation. The Libertarian Party blames government regulation for the worsening economic and food conditions in a statement from the Libertarian Party by Executive Director Shane Cory:

“Food rationing for the first time in the United States is the tragic consequence of government interference in the free market. From crop subsidies to disastrous energy policies, the end result is food shortages in the most prosperous nation in the world. Republicans and Democrats have failed to stay out of the economy, and American citizens are paying for it at the pump and on the dinner table. Americans need a government that recognizes the need to stay out of the market, so that we can avoid the catastrophic repercussions that come from economic meddling.”

The Libertarian Party is America’s third largest political party, founded in 1971 as an alternative to the two main political parties. You can find more information on the Libertarian Party by visiting www.LP.org. The Libertarian Party proudly stands for smaller government, lower taxes and more freedom.

Phillies: Student Visas, Weapon for Liberty

Phillies: Student Visas, Weapon for Liberty

Worcester, Mass., April 28: Libertarian Presidential candidate George Phillies today called for expansion of student visa programs. “There is no more powerful way to show people the rewards of freedom,” Phillies said, “than to bring them into our country as students. While here, foreign students enrich the education of our fellow Americans. When they go home, these same foreign students who came to America for undergraduate and advanced degrees will become powerful ambassadors for liberty.”

Phillies recalled 1991, when some of the first Russian graduate students came to his own university. “To help them acclimate to America,” he said, “We took them to the local supermarket. Their jaws would drop. Later they told me, ‘I saw that, and I knew Russia had lost the cold war’.”

“That’s the benefit of bringing students to America,” Phillies said. “They learn about our country, its customs, and the richness of our life. Hopefully they like what they see, and they take the idea of freedom and the promise of those rewards back to their own countries.”

Batalla en Stamford Bridge

Abril 28, 2008

Battle At Stamford Bridge

Abril 28, 2008

BATTLE AT STAMFORD BRIDGE

After the Chelsea VS Manchester United game in which Chelsea emerged victorious, three Manchester United Players were recovering from their loss when the staff at Chelsea told to recover elsewhere. The result was a scuffle between the Chelsea Staff and the three Manchester United Players.

While I understand the intense rivalry that exists between Chelsea and Manchester United [as well as the fact that I support both teams], it is unfair to both teams and to football that rivalries can spark into scuffles. It would be better if both teams investigated the footage that they have before making any judgment calls and find a way to resolve this situation. It would also be great if Chelsea and Manchester United were to cooperate with the FA to resolve the incident between Chelsea and three Manchester United Players.

When there are acts of violence in football off or on the field, it constitutes a blemish on both teams and on football as a whole. If I was a judge who had to rule on this latest travesty of our beloved sport, I would have examined all of the evidence. After examining the evidence, I would have punished the people who were involved without having to punish the teams involved. The punishment that I would have given would have been a one game suspension for the Manchester United Players and a one week suspension for the Chelsea Staff [without pay] that were involved in the scuffle followed by a warning. I would do this because I love football. I love football to the point that I attack the cancers that want to give it a bad name whether it is a minor fight, a major fight, or even acts of hooliganism regardless of who started these acts. Football should say no to violence of any kind on or off the field.

I would like to congratulate Rio Ferdinand for his apology to the female steward after accidentally kicking her after the penalty winner by Ballack. I am also glad that the female steward accepted his apology [and the flowers] and forgave him. Rio Ferdinand deserves my praise for his action and his action has done more to prove that there is good as well as bad in football. It was a pity that the press did not put emphasis on this good deed but concentrated on the negative aspect of the game between Chelsea and Manchester United.
