Barack Obama [A Personal Reflection]

Ever since the photo of Obama in a turban appeared in the Drudge Report, the people have been saying about the photo of the turban. I do not think that it would hurt Obama’s chance at the Democratic Nomination. The publicity surrounding the photo of Obama is an act of Anti Americanism on the part of the US Elite of Republicans and Democrats. It has always been a part of history that the Republicans and Democrats use Anti American Tactics to smear each other and now national clothing are being used as a means. All of the Anti American Activities of the Republicans and Democrats have damaged the chances of both parties in the future. I myself am a Libertarian voting for George Phillies.

I am sick and tired of the Anti American Ranting of the US Elite called the Republicans and Democrats as well as the US Media inventing an Americanism that borders on ethnic hatred, class hatred, and hatred of all types. Regardless of whether a person belongs to an ethnic group, religion, state, or the clothes he or she wears should not interfere in the election or nomination process. The important thing is that the person is a good person willing to find the best solutions for his or her country. If the people who talk about a photo of Obama in a turban have nothing else to do, I have a suggestion for them. I have a suggestion for the people who are doing soap opera like reporting in stations such as NBC, CBS, FOX, CNN, and ABC instead of reporting on the serious business of who will be the next President of the United States of America, learn from NNN [Naked News Network].

I propose that the people who are always talking about whether one candidate used a turban or another candidate insulted another candidate should imitate the people of Naked News Network and do the news in the nude. My reason is that it is not the clothes that make a person. It is the internal character of the person that determines the worth of the individual. The US Elite should stop it game of turban and start to loosen up a little. I can assure you that the reporter in NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, or even CNN that wears the suit and tie or the suit and dress would at an opportunity would either do the news in the nude or at least dress with a casual dress style. For those who do not understand irony, I am just saying that clothing does not make the person. It is the inside of the individual that counts.

Barack Obama is reaching a point in his life that in another era not so long ago would have been prohibited for any one who is African American or a Woman. In order to arrive at the point where Obama is, we must review briefly the history of the United States of America. There was a saying in the US Latin Community in which those who immigrated from Europe and Latin America would tell those born in the United States of America: “You can be President of the United States of America”. The reality was that the Presidency was the domain of White Anglo Saxon Americans who call themselves Americans but in reality were expelled from England and other parts of Europe in the name of freedom or for being intolerant of other people’s cultures [like the Puritans in England]. This same group of people who stole land from the indigenous population in a form of ethnic cleansing, enslaved Africans, created instability in other countries for the sake of cheap professional labour, and took some land from Mexico were the ones who wrote the rules and everyone else followed. The same applied for party affiliation. If a White Anglo Saxon American Male was a Republican and Democrat, he could become President. If a White Anglo Saxon American Male was a member of the Libertarian or Green Party member, there were no chances of becoming President because of the archaic election rules such as the Electoral College and the Primaries.

In the year 2008, the people of the United States of America were resigned to a monarchy with a Bush Clinton Dynasty. The people who even supported a Bush Clinton Dynasty had their own website. The year 2008 was going to be another boring year until the upsets by Barack Obama and the endorsements started coming at his direction. The Establishment responded in all of the vile ways possible and even using smear tactics. Everything now hinges on Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Rhode Island with Ohio and Texas being the biggest prize of them all. I would not be surprised of Obama won the last primaries and secured the Presidential Nomination for the Democratic Party.

The Debate in Ohio or the Debacle in Ohio showed a Hillary Clinton that was continuously interrupting Barrack Obama when he was trying to explain his economic and health care package including the Twenty One Billion Dollars for an Economic Recovery Package. It was obvious in the Presidential Debate of the Democratic Party which was held in Cleveland State University Campus and broadcasted by MSNBC and WKYC 3 News that Hillary Clinton was about ready to explode every time Obama talked. It appeared that the US Elite was willing to accept any President except Obama. Even if Obama does not win the Presidency, the fact that he went farther than anyone imagined is a testament to the will of a person and the desire of a group such as the African Americans to rise in spite of all obstacles.

I hope that we the Libertarians or even the US Latin Community could arrive at such an opportunity. For the detractors who say otherwise, if an African American could become President, why not a US Latin who is articulate in English and a member of a truly American Party called the Libertarian Party?

Algarve Cup 2008

On the Twentieth of February 2008, announcements were made for the beginning of the 2008 Algarve Cup. The Algarve Cup will be the Fifteenth Annual Cup held in The Algarve in Portugal for Women Football [or Women Soccer] and will serve as a trampoline by the United States Women’s Soccer [Football] team for the preparations for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games to be held in Beijing, China as well as for the CONCACAF Women’s Olympic Qualifiers to be held in Ciudad Juarez in Mexico in April 2008. The date for the Algarve Cup will be between the Fifth of March 2008 and end on the Twelfth of March 2008. The groups are already in place.

The countries that classified in Group A will be Germany, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland. The Group B Countries are the United States of America, China, Norway, and Italy. The last group which is Group C is Portugal, Iceland, Ireland, and Poland. The chances of the United States Women Soccer [Football] Team in winning the Algarve Cup lies in defeating its Group B opponents including China in its first game on the fifth of March 2008.

I would like to comment that the United States Women’s Soccer [Football] Team was the Algarve Cup Champions three times in a row between the years 2003 to 2005 and won again in 2007 thanks in part to their tireless efforts under the guidance and goals of Kristine Lilley and Carli Lloyd. While the United States Women’s Soccer [Football] Team has been successful in 2007 with some exceptions in the latter part of the year, I am confident that the United States Women’s Soccer [Football] Team can move to bigger and better things in the world of Women’s Soccer and Football under the leadership of Pia Sundhage.

The majority of the players have been in the Algarve Cup such as Hope Solo, Christie Rampone, Carli Lloyd, Lauren Cheney, and Amy Rodriguez. It is these players and the rest of the team who have shown to be have the stamina and the will to win and show the world that there are great soccer [football] players in North America who are truly the successors of Mia Hamm [who by herself was the greatest female football [soccer] player of her time. I would also like to declare that Hope Solo is one of the best goalkeepers in North American Female Football [Soccer] for reasons I will write later. Since I am talking about Algarve, I will say that Hope Solo is the person to watch.

Hope Solo

One of the best goalkeepers in the world is Hope Solo of the United States Women’s Soccer Team. Hope Solo was born Hope Amelia Solo on the thirtieth of July in the year 1981 in Richland, Washington. Hope Solo started her career in high school and college before playing with the United States Women’s Football [Soccer] Team. During her high school and college years with the Richland High School Bombers and the University of Washington Huskies, she scored one hundred and nine goals, was a four time All-PAC Selection and a Three Time NSCAA All American. Hope Solo was also named the Parade All American. It was during this period that she switched to goalkeeping.

 

Hope Solo made her debut with the United States Women’s Soccer [Football] Team in the year 2000 with her first shutout against Mexico and first appearance against Iceland. In the year 2005, Hope Solo was the staring goalkeeper in three of the four games played by the United States in the Algarve Cup and earned shutouts in all of the four games. In the United States [2005], Hope Solo was able to start nine games and earn seven shutouts. In the year 2006, Hope Solo had a record of One Thousand and Fifty Four Minutes without allowing a goal which was demolished by a goal conceded to France in the Algarve Cup. The sorry state of having to concede a goal was starting three of four games and earning two shutouts in the Algarve Cup in 2006 was also not the best time for Hope Solo. Regardless, Hope Solo was able to play in the Four Nations Tournament in China by starting three matches and earning three shutouts in the same year.

 

The year 2007 saw the participation of Hope Solo in the FIFA Women’s World Cup in which she was able to start ten games, earn five shutouts while going to the finals. Regardless, Hope Solo was able to prove that she was the greatest goalkeeper by being able to remain calm, cool, and collected under pressure. Hope Solo was also a goalkeeper for the Philadelphia Charge, Kopparsberg Goteberg FC, and Olympique Lyonnais during her career as a goalkeeper.

 

Her best role as a goalkeeper was off the field as she was able to forgive her father for divorcing her mother when she was six years old. It takes a lot of courage to do this and it took a lot of courage to be close to her father in spite of his drinking and being homeless until his death in 2007. It also took a lot of courage to continue playing in spite of such losses. It is for this reason that I consider Hope Solo the best goalkeeper in the world.

Debacle in Ohio/Relajo en Ohio

DEBACLE IN OHIO

Our troops die while Clinton and Obama are practicing the latest wrestling techniques for the brawl in Cleveland. The people of the USA in a majority are in danger of becoming like the people of Cuba willing to accept anything as long as there is some comfort. It does not have to be, I challenge the people of the USA to say “Enough Is Enough” and throw out the Republicans and Democrats. The replacement should be George Phillies and the Libertarian Party.

Clinton and Obama debated in Cleveland Ohio under the sponsorship of Cleveland State University. The debate was transmitted by MSNBC and WKYC 3. Clinton started the sick comedy and wrestling match by lashing out at Obama for distortion and making denied using smear tactics against Obama. Clinton talked about her health plan being a Universal Mandatory Health Care System interrupting Obama constantly and disparaging his health care system which would not be mandatory. When Obama started talking about Health Care, Clinton appeared like she was ready to explode like a volcano and would express her opinions forcefully while Obama was talking. Obama even stated that Medicare Part B was a voluntary programme that people bought because it was a great programme.

The next order of the day was NAFTA [North American Free Trade Agreement] in which both admitted supporting in the beginning but would opt out in six months. I have a personal opinion of NAFTA. I was born in Ohio and I do not agree with the idea of opting out of NAFTA. It would be the equivalent of shooting oneself in the foot. While some people and states have benefited and others have not, I am of the opinion [I was raised in Ohio during the 1960’s and 1970’s] that Ohio and other Midwestern States in its majority did not prepare themselves for the changes that were to come. Ohio and other Midwestern States depended on the auto, petroleum, and rubber industry with the majority of people having the attitude of school, college, family, and factory work while complaining about the professional class and other people who were more successful for their troubles. It did not help that Ohio had Governors such as Rhodes [who ran Ohio like a personal property], Gilligan, Celeste, and other governors who did not help the situation. People have a responsibility to prepare themselves.

The Wrestling Match ended with both fighters exhausted and no clear winner. Tim Russert was a great moderator as well as Brian Williams. Both Russert and Williams were a stabilizing presence in the Debacle in Ohio.

Hubo acusaciones y contra acusaciones acerca del Tratado de Libre Comercio y la necesidad en retirarse del Tratado de Libre Comercio [un equivalente del suicidio pues el problema con el TLC fue que los estados de Ohio y otros en el Medio Oesre en una epoca [1960’s y 1970’s] sufrieron de la mentalidad de “ Estudios, Colegio, Universidad, y Fabrica” sin tomar en cuenta que las cosas no quedan para siempre.

The Libertarian Party calls for a return back to the political issues, and urges candidates to avoid distractions that do nothing to better the nation.  The Party refers to the photos circulated by Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign that show rival-candidate Barack Obama dressed in traditional Somali attire during a 2006 visit to Kenya, and the debate over John McCain’s alleged relationship with a female lobbyist.

Taylor: Quit Football!!!!!

It was well known that on the 23^rd of February 2008 that Arsenal player Eduardo was injured by Taylor. It is also well known that Martin Taylor from Birmingham tackled Eduardo resulting in an expulsion and that Arsene Wenger made the declaration that “Taylor should be banned”. While Arsene Wenger was forced to retract his statement, I disagree with him in having to retract his statement.

 

What happened was a disgrace and should not have happened. Martin Taylor acted in an anti social and anti professional manner which left Eduardo with a fractured left fibula and an open dislocation of his left ankle. I do not know if Martin Taylor did this inadvertently or not, but his actions and what happened to Eduardo should be the reason for a red card and a lifetime ban from football. I am also in agreement with Croatian Radio and Television Personalities on the need to have Taylor expelled permanently from football taking into account that Eduardo will have to undergo nine months of rehabilitation in order to effect a full recovery.

 

While I want Martin Taylor punished, I am in disagreement with those who want to commit random acts of violence against him. I am also in disagreement with the statements threatening Martin Taylor that I have seen in the Croatian Websites. This sort of action contributes to inflaming the situation more than what it should be. It would be a crime for any country to even think of declaring war because of what has happened. We have to remember that in the late 1960’s; El Salvador and Honduras fought a war because of a football game. Violence begets violence and it will not help the football world if Croatia or anybody attacks Martin Taylor. The only thing that will solve the injustice committed against Eduardo, Croatia, and Arsenal is to have Martin Taylor banned permanently from football. Unlike Arsene Wenger, I am saying this after carefully reviewing what transpired in the BBC Websites and looking at the medical websites.

 

Eduardo, I hope you make a full recovery. Martin Taylor, I hope you are truly sorry for what you have done and make the decision to retire permanently from football. FIFA or the FA, please initiate appropriate and necessary action against this injustice and remove Taylor from football. Taylor does not need counseling; he needs a one way ticket to the unemployment office.

Remembering Phil O’ Donnell

It is almost two months since the sudden departure of Phil O’ Donnell from the world of the living doing what he has done the best, helping humanity by playing the game of football [soccer] in his country of Scotland for Motherwell. It is sad that he had to leave us at the age of thirty five. When I heard of his death on December of 2007, I felt like I had been kicked in the groin, followed by a kick in the stomach, and then amputated without anaesthesia. For the multitude of readers who may think that this is an exagerration, the reality is that the left side of my body [which has been affected by a car accident in 2006] became extremely painful and numb upon hearing of his death. My personal and physical pain and numbeness of my left side of the body exacerbated as I heard the next door neighbor blaring out his compact disc recording of Sheryl Crow, Cat Stevens [now Yusuf Islam], and Rod Stewart’s hit “The First Cut Is The Deepest”.

Phil O’ Donnell would not want us to remember how he left the Earth, he would want us to remember him as a humanitarian and a football player.
Phil O’ Donnell was born in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire in Scotland almost a few minutes from Motherwell’s ground called Fir Park. Phil O’ Donnell came into the world on the twenty fifth of March in the year 1972 and he was a great football player since his early years. It was not surprising that he started his career as a Midfielder for Motherwell, Celtic, and Sheffield Wednesday before making a triumphant return to Motherwell. His forty goals in two hundred and ninety eight appearances, and being the recipient of the Scottish FA Cup, Scottish Premier League Winner, and Scottish PFA Young Player of the year during his career were big contributions to Scottish Football. Phil O’ Donnell was also a family man who was hapily married and with four children. Phil O’ Donnell was an honourable and decent man who exalted football to bigger heights with his exemplary behaviour off and on the field.

On the fateful day of the twenty ninth of December 2007; just as he was going to be substituted [in the Motherwall Game against Dundee United] and was taken to Wishall Hospital where he died of left ventricular failure. Actually, the left ventricular failure was found in the Necropsy reports. [Remember Necropsy and Post Mortem reports are different words with the same definitions. Autopsy means to cut one self]. Regardless, Phil O’ Donnell has left us and with it a void in our football world.

Phil O’ Donnell may be in Heaven but he is still with us in Spirit always.
