Open the Party System in America

The two party systems in the United States are outdated and is a failure. It is a rare thing that the Republicans and Democrats preach and talk about human rights in the world while other political parties are actively excluded and marginalized by the Mainstream Media and the Establishment. The Republicans and Democrats are proving themselves to be old fashioned, childish, arrogant about the needs of the people, the fact that housing and insurance are becoming increasingly expensive, and that people are not voting since the elections are arranged in favour of the Republicans and Democrats.

  For the people who say that votes for the other parties are a wasted vote, I have the following questions that need to be answered.

1. Who cannot forget how the City of San Francisco threatened members of the Green Party with loss of job if they voted Green during the 2000 Elections?

2. Who cannot forget how the Secretary of State of Ohio nullified 57,000 signatures on a petition by the Libertarian Party to present Michael Badnarik on the ballot in 2004?

3. Who cannot forget how the State of Ohio in the final hours of the 2004 Elections there were the existence of threats to alternative parties?

4. Who cannot forget how in the year 2006, the Republican Candidate for Governor of Illinois refused to debate with a member of the Green Party present in Illinois Public Television?

5. Who cannot forget the refusal of Republicans and Democrats to debate Libertarians and Greens in Televised Debates in Ohio in 2006?

6. Why did North Carolina use extralegal means to keep the Libertarian Party from being on the ballot? 

The Republicans and Democrats are afraid of alternative parties since they are the harbingers of war, hatred, and a system that is being discredited by the minute. Even the almighty Dollar has fallen with the Euro being used in many countries such as Iran and Qatar. It is easy to hide behind the ivory tower that is Washington DC and say “Nothing is happening”. It is easy to hide behind the laws that govern elections [that are discriminatory] and an Electoral College that outlived its usefulness. 

The United States of America has no moral right to ask other countries to open their political process while keeping its political process closed to the people.

Heath Ledger: A Tribute

When I started writing about Heath Ledger, I had to ask myself the question “Who is Heath Ledger?” because in reality the majority of the today’s artists are either unknown or lack talent except for scandals like Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Lindsey Lohan, and the Olsen Twins. Before writing, I decided to read up on the life, times, and career of Heath Ledger. In the process, I learned a lesson in humility and not to allow myself to prejudge an artist. The system in Hollywood may not be great but there are some people who have or had talent.

 Heath Ledger was an Australian Actor who became a success with the film “Brokeback Mountain”. He was one of the few people from Australia who gave Hollywood and the Entertainment Industry his best. After seeing portions of the film “Brokeback Mountain”, it was difficult to distinguish between the acting and the real thing. While it may be easy to blame many spheres of life such as society, expectations of the artist as a “God” or “Superior Deity”, and an inability to handle success, Heath Ledger was an exception.

Is there a possibility that Heath Ledger’s Death may have been prevented? It is a question that will remain unanswered. What is known was that the person who gave Heath Ledger his massage arrived at his apartment room and that the housekeeper may have been in the house? What is also known that precious time was wasted when Heath Ledger may have been saved from either an overdose or a “possible heart attack”.

What is also surreal was that no one was prepared to do CPR [Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation] and that one of the Olsen Twins [Mary Kate Olsen][who are always secure of themselves in the limelight] were numb when faced with the reality of a friend dying or dead. Why did Mary Kate Olsen not take immediate action to call the emergency number 911 or at least attempt to save his friend’s life? Is Mary Kate Olsen a nervous person? Is Mary Kate Olsen afraid of the publicity? Again, I do not know the answers. What is known is that too much time was wasted on the little details to the point that a life might have been lost unnecessarily.

The lessons to be learned is the need for people to take CPR Courses and to act quickly when a person is either in choking mode, overdose mode, or is in danger of dying from closure of the vocal cords. When saving a life, time is of the essence. REFERENCE:

Kurd Stars FC: A Reflection

Many people think of the Kurds in Iraq and associate them with the horrors that they lived under the Saddam Hussein Government. Others think of the Kurdish Areas of Iraq, and they think of the cross border raids within their areas. The time has come to talk about the Kurds in a different light, sports especially football [soccer].

The Kurd Stars FC is the only Kurdish Club to officially belong to the London FA League. Actually, The Kurd Stars FC belong to the West End London AFA Sunday PM Premier Division. In the present 2007-2008 season as of the statistics of the 15^th of January 2008, there were four victories, three drawn games, and seven lost with 22 goals for, 22 goals against, and a seven point difference.

Kurd Stars FC was in seventh place The Kurd Stars FC was founded in September 2005 and its Club Chairman is Mr. Sarkhell Sirwan Nawroly. Since its beginning in September 2005, the Kurd Stars FC has been the recipient of its first kit by Adnan Shaswar, was featured in the website of the English Football Association [FA.com], interviewed by the multi talented multifaceted journalist Namiq Rafiq (Khoshnow] of Kurdistan Satellite Channel, and was featured in Kurdistan’s Prestigious Newspaper Xebat. In addition to raising awareness of Kurdish Football, they have helped clubs in the Kurdish Areas of Iraq form their own football teams and have sent sports experts and coaches to Iraqi Kurdistan to help train future players,

After impressive gains, there was progress when Mr. Sarkhell Nawroly met with Mr. Safin Kanabi (Head of Kurdistan FA - in Kurdistan Of Iraq) with the intention of creating and expanding contacts between Europe and Kurdistan. It is hoped that eventually, the Kurd Stars FC will be able to compete in the Olympics and in the FIFA World Cup. While this is happening, the fame of Kurd Stars FC is expanding in all of the four corners of the world.

I personally hope and have written an E Mail letter for this purpose that the Kurd Stars FC would come to Miami Florida and play the Miami FC in Tropical Park [a place in Miami Florida where the Miami FC have their home].

New Film: The Shoot Down

On February 24, 1996, four Brothers to the Rescue pilots were murdered by the Cuban government. These men were patrolling international waters looking for cuban rafters who were trying to escape the demonic trenches of Fidel Castro’s government. They were not able to help the rafters, as they were shot down by the cuban government. Much has been said about this day but there is now a documentary that is chilling. I am urging all my friends who are like me believers of human rights and passionate about the suffering of the innocent. I have attached a link for the movie’s trailer. It is important that you go to the theater and see this movie. If you go, the theaters will continue to show the movie. This will allow everyone throughout the US to finally see the truth. If you don’t it will die just like our brothers died that very sad day on February 24th. Please pass this on to everyone who you know is passionate about our cause. The last time that we did this we worked together we got a response of over 50,000. I have also included the opening days for this movie. Please go see it.

Phillies: Make Washington, D.C. a Model City

Worcester, MA — Libertarian Presidential candidate George Phillies today called on Congress to honor its responsibilities to the city of Washington, DC.

“According to the Constitution, Congress serves as the D.C. legislature,” he observed. “It’s time they did the job right.”

“The first step to a good life is a good education, whether from public, private, or home schooling,” Phillies said. “The D.C. school system is one of the most expensive school systems in the country, but it’s certainly not one of the best.” According to the Quality Counts Report published by Editorial Projects in Education and quoted in the Washington Post, DC ranked below all fifty states in education performance and policy. This, in spite of the highest average teacher salaries in the country and the highest per student expenditure in the nation according to the NEA’s website. “Congress tries to solve this problem the way it tries to solve every problem,” quipped Phillies. “By bombing it with money.”

Instead of harassing local school boards across America whose schools are outperforming those in DC, Congress should stay at home and take responsibility for fixing Congress’s own school district, the D.C. public schools. “How will we know the schools are better? When the children of Senators and Representatives attend them.”

Phillies addressed DC unemployment, as well. “All too many Washingtonians are unemployed,” Phillies noted. “6.1% unemployment isn’t the worst in the country, but it’s unacceptable. Congress should get out of the way of private enterprise, which creates real jobs for real Americans. There’s no sensible reason to harass people who want to drive a jitney, braid a neighbor’s hair, or watch a neighbor’s children during the day. All that government regulation has a bad effect. Too many Americans speak in terms of getting a job from someone else rather than making a job for themselves. Away from Capitol Hill, Washington is full of hard working, good Americans. Congress should make sure that their neighbors in DC are not denied the job opportunities that only small business can provide.”

The Libertarian hopeful, recently endorsed by Outright Libertarians, the largest LGBT Libertarian organization in the country, also called upon Congress to get out of the marriage business, not just at the federal level but in DC where they act as the legislature as well. “Across merica, the definition of marriage hasbecome a point of bitter contention. DC should offer a standard civil union contract, capable of binding amendment, that would cover not only marriages as defined by the individuals involved and their private beliefs, but also other similar relationships, for example, elderly friends who want iron-clad assurance that if they are incapacitated their medical care decisions will be made by someone they know and trust.”

Democratic presidential candidate Mike Gravel claims to fully support the impeachment of Vice President Cheney and President Bush.
“There is a lot of very good news that makes me tremendously hopeful that we as a nation are starting to wake up and insist our congressional representatives act to make impeachment happen now,” Gravel wrote on his presidential website Friday.
The former Alaskan Senator is an outspoken advocate of impeaching Bush and Cheney over the lies they have told the American nation in support of their go-to-war policies.
“I want to very clearly and emphatically affirm the imperative of Impeachment as the Presidential Campaign begins to move into high gear and as the media is busy anointing the ‘front runners’,” the 77-year-old Democrat continued.
Gravel stressed that without impeachment, the message of presidential candidates will become ‘another empty campaign promise and another sad political fantast’.
Earlier this week on Jan 23, congressman Dennis Kucinich announced his plan to introduce articles of impeachment against President Bush.
